Who processes your data
Industrial AI Tech Ltd ("Amity"), a company incorporated in the United Kingdom and registered at Companies House under number 16261096, with its registered office at 20-22 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, United Kingdom. Contact email: main@aitechindustrial.com. Write to that address with any question about this policy or about your data.
What data we process and where it comes from
If you fill in the form on this website, we process the name and phone number you give us. Those are the only two fields we ask for. If you write to us on WhatsApp or by email, we also process the content of that conversation and any data you choose to include in it.
When you visit the website we store your IP address in a technical log. We use it for two specific things: to keep a record of the requests we receive, and to limit the number of submissions from the same address, which is what stops an automated program from filling our list with junk.
If you become a customer, we also process the data needed to provide the service and invoice you: your business details, your advertising account details and your billing details.
This website uses no cookies and no analytics
We do not install cookies, pixels or third-party measurement tools. That is why you will not see a cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. The details are in our cookie policy.
What we use the data for and on what legal basis
To reply to you and look at your case when you leave us your details: the basis is your own request, that is, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To provide the service you have signed up for: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
To issue invoices and keep them: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
For the technical log and the security of the website: our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and protected against abuse (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects on you, and we do not build profiles from your personal data.
The mobile app
The Amity app is for the business owner, not for their customers. To work, it processes the following data, and only this:
What you type when you sign up: your name, the business name, your phone number, your email, the city and address of your premises, your industry and how many customers you want per month.
The photos and videos you upload for the adverts, and the photos and voice notes you send in the chat with your account manager. Voice notes are transcribed to text so your account manager can read them; the recording and the transcript are stored alongside the rest of the conversation.
An identifier for your device so we can send you notifications, together with the operating system and the app version. That identifier does not say who you are and cannot be used to locate you: its only purpose is to get a notification to that phone. If you switch notifications off in your phone's settings, we no longer have one.
The app does not access your contacts, does not read your messages from other apps and does not check your location in the background. The camera, microphone and photo library are used only when you choose to send a photo, a video or a voice note, and only at that moment.
There are no third-party adverts inside the app and we do not sell your data to anyone. What we do is measure how the app is used and where installs come from, with the tools described in the next section.
Measurement and advertising of the app itself
To know whether the app is working well and whether our own adverts bring installs, the app includes three third-party components. None of them receives your name, phone number or email; they work with an installation identifier and technical data about the device (model, operating system, language, app version).
Google Analytics for Firebase measures installs, sessions and which screen people stay on. That measurement also lets us know whether an install came from an advert on Google. Controller for that processing: Google Ireland Ltd. You can read how Google handles that data at policies.google.com/privacy.
The Meta SDK tells Meta that the app has been installed and opened, and reports a few milestones such as completing sign-up or starting a subscription, so that Meta can attribute those installs to our adverts on Facebook and Instagram and optimise them. Controller for that processing: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (facebook.com/privacy/policy).
RevenueCat manages the status of your subscription between the store (Google Play or the App Store) and us: it receives from the store that you have subscribed, renewed or cancelled, and passes that on to us. It works with your Amity account identifier and the purchase data the store hands it; never with your card (revenuecat.com/privacy).
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in maintaining the app and measuring our own advertising (Article 6(1)(f)), in the case of Firebase and Meta; and performance of the subscription contract (Article 6(1)(b)), in the case of RevenueCat.
You can switch off Google and Meta measurement at any time from within the app, under Profile → Account → "Analytics and advertising". Once switched off, they stop receiving data from that phone; the app works just the same. RevenueCat cannot be switched off while you have a subscription, because without it we would not know it is active.
If you subscribe from the app
Payment is handled by the store you installed the app from: Google Play or the App Store. They process the payment data, and we never see or store your card number. From the store we receive only confirmation that the subscription is active and when it renews.
The advertising budget is a separate matter and is charged separately, to the card you save in Stripe. There too, the card details are processed by Stripe; we keep only the card brand and the last four digits so you can recognise it on screen.
How to delete your account
From within the app, under Profile → Account → Delete my account. You can also request it from the website, without having the app installed, on the account deletion page. In both cases advertising stops and the subscription is cancelled the same day, and your data is deleted after thirty days; during that period you can change your mind.
Who else sees your data
To operate, we rely on providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions. They are:
Hosting for the website and the database, on servers located in the European Union.
Stripe, to charge the subscription. Your card details are processed by Stripe directly; we never see or store them.
Meta Platforms and Google, to create and manage your advertising campaigns and, in Meta's case, to run WhatsApp Business.
Anthropic, whose language model we use so that the assistant can draft the WhatsApp replies.
OpenAI, solely to transcribe incoming voice notes to text, and only when that feature is switched on.
A transactional email provider for email notifications, and Telegram for internal alerts to our team.
Expo, to deliver notifications to your phone, and — depending on the phone you use — Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) or Apple (APNs), who actually deliver them. Only the device identifier and the text of the notification travel.
Google (Firebase Analytics) and Meta (its SDK), to measure app usage and attribute installs to our adverts, on the terms set out in the section "Measurement and advertising of the app itself".
RevenueCat, to know the status of your subscription when you subscribe from the app.
Google Play and the App Store, if you subscribe from the app: they take the payment and confirm to us that it is active.
Outside these cases we do not pass your data to anyone, unless legally required.
Data outside the European Union
Amity is a British company, and the United Kingdom has an adequacy decision from the European Commission: the data we process there enjoys a level of protection equivalent to the European one. Some of our providers are established in the United States; those transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or by the adequacy decisions in force. You can ask us for a copy of the applicable safeguards by writing to the contact address.
The appointment of a representative in the European Union under Article 27 GDPR is in progress.
How long we keep it
If you write to us and we do not end up working together, we keep your contact details for a maximum of two years from the last contact, in case you pick the conversation up again, and then delete them.
If you are a customer, we keep them for as long as the relationship lasts and, once it ends, for as long as legal obligations require: six years for commercial records and four years for tax records.
Technical logs containing IP addresses are kept for twelve months.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, to rectify or erase it, object to the processing, ask us to restrict it, and request portability of the data you have given us. You can also withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before.
To exercise them, write to main@aitechindustrial.com stating which right you want to exercise. We will reply within one month.
If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es) or, in the United Kingdom, the ICO (ico.org.uk).
When the assistant talks to your business's customers
If you are our customer, the WhatsApp assistant talks with the people who write to you. For that data you are the controller and we act as processor: we process it only to provide the service to you, under your instructions, and we do not use it for any other purpose. The terms of that processing form part of the service contract.
Children
This service is aimed at businesses and at adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change the way we process data, we will update this page and change the date shown above. If the change is significant and you are a customer, we will also let you know directly.
